I am heartbroken over the loss of l07.7 FM as the Lake. The HD version does not play the same music. It's a little more hardcore or punkish or heavy metal or whatever headache inducing term you want to attach. Yes, & like we need another outlet for right wing, hate inducing talk radio. Thankfully, I have an ipod hookup in my car so I don't have to listen to the radio at all. All in all, it sux.

The "sound" is much better for WBEN on FM. Also, listeners in the Southern Tier of NY can now hear WBEN without the whining alternator noise that kicks in when charging cells phone in the car. Weak AM signals are interfered , with but not FM signals. No lightning crashes either. The AM signal from WBEN is very hard to receive when they power down at sunset.

Regarding the decision to simulcast WBEN on 107.7, the bottom line is the listeners have 1 less choice on the radio now, and they come off looking cheap.
