On Wednesday night, Scott Brown did a heart-breaking piece with the parents of a 20-year-old son, who killed himself after years of addiction to pain-killers. Another long piece that was especially noteworthy was the recent one on Barry Lillis' struggles with alcohol. It's great to see a piece that runs eight to ten minutes or more in a newscast. Rather than the silly, off-beat entertainment-style stories we tend to see during the middle of the 5:30 half-hour, it's good to see time devoted to a serious local issue.
