At least 2 recognizes their reporters with the Emmy nominations. Come on WIVB- your reporters are the people who earned the nominations. Not solely the news director.

When Mr Rumore says they are working without a contract, that is false. There are provisions in the contract that continue in effect until an updated contract is signed. Some of those provisions include guaranteed RAISES for cost of living, continued LUXURY health insurance, GOLDEN retirement plans, and all the protections and goodies that we no longer can afford.
Anyone else would love to be working with those perks.
If there truly was "no contract" then abolish cosmetic surgery tomorrow.

I say CNN should play that story daily until it's fixed.

Something like that. I checked the Blue Jays and Argonauts schedules... the Rogers Centre is vacant from August 20 (the end of the Blue Jays' home stand) and August 27 (the Argos' home game against Edmonton), and except for Labour Day and Canadian Thanksgiving, the CFL almost NEVER plays games on Monday nights. They had a slot for the Bills game already cleared.

Seeing that the 2010 preseason match had somewhere around 15,000 open seats by the time kickoff rolled around, I'm not surprised Rogers decided to give the game back. Nobody cares to see preseason games. That's why they have the International Series in the regular season. The only reason they still have them is because the NFL wants 20 games worth of ticket revenue, but the NFLPA wants only 16 weeks of full contact. NFL won't cancel the preseason games without adding regular season games in their place, and the NFLPA won't even consider adding any further regular season games (and who can blame them?).

I originally had some of it wrong and have since corrected. The Bills say they will have nine home games at the Ralph in 2012 as they had in 2011. Of course, if the Toronto preseason game was one of only two home preseason games planned and not a third, season ticketholders could have saved some $$$$$.

Something is happening behind the scenes. They are telling us theres no way the preseason game could be played just because the Blue Jays are in town? They could have told the Jays and the MLB to leave that space open for the Bills game. They even play some preseason games on Thursday.

Im guessing Rogers knows they cant sell the tickets, so they asked Buffalo to take the game back. Rogers is embarrassed by all the empty seats, so they often give away tickets.

Also, Rogers basically already bought this game, so will the ticket revenue still go Rogers even though the game is held in OP?

The too smart for radio callers Mike Schopp said:
.
I thought the Bills' release on ticket sales was vague. Followed up and was told tickets in no areas of the stadium are going up in price.
.
There's no catch. There were nine games at Ralph Wilson Stadium last year too. Prices in two sections are going down, all else staying the same.

I had the same reaction, Alan, that CNN, and before that, Atlantic magazine, were reporting on an old news story. But you'd be surprised at how many local media consumers believed that this was news. Several of my Facebook fans have been posting links to the Atlantic article in recent weeks and now I've seen several more links to this latest CNN piece. My "friends" included comments that this practice (plastic surgery benefits) needs to be stopped. Hello! This was reported on by the Buffalo News 18 months ago. And I fail to see why the local TV stations led with this story on their newscasts last night. I will grudgingly agree that some coverage was probably warranted because of the national exposure this was given. But I ignored the CNN angle in my radio newscasts yesterday in favor of stories that were, well, actual news.
